Lianxun Instruments’ Half-Year Profit Surges 903% on AI-Driven Optical Demand

China’s STAR Market ‘king stock’ Lianxun Instruments has delivered a blockbuster first-half report, with revenue and net profit expanding several-fold year-over-year, driven by booming demand for high-speed optical communication products in the AI and data center boom.

What Happened

According to the company’s filing, H1 2026 revenue reached RMB 1.531 billion, up 208.71% from RMB 496 million a year earlier. Net profit attributable to shareholders soared 903.00% to RMB 567 million, while non-GAAP net profit jumped 944.35% to RMB 562 million. Operating cash flow turned strongly positive at RMB 548 million, versus a negative figure in the prior-year period. The company also announced a 4.8-for-10 share capitalization increase (stock dividend) from capital reserves, with no cash dividend or bonus shares.

The company attributed growth to AI technology development, rising global computing power demand, and accelerated data center construction, which have spurred demand for high-speed optical communication products and testing equipment for optical modules and chips.

Market Impact

Lianxun’s stellar results underscore the earnings power of companies supplying critical infrastructure for AI-driven data centers. The stock, which has already surged over 199% since its April listing, closed at RMB 2,259 per share on August 26, making it the highest-priced A-share with a market cap of RMB 231.9 billion. The results could boost sentiment for other optical communication and testing equipment names in China, as well as global peers.

For bonds, the news has limited direct impact, but it reinforces the narrative of robust corporate earnings in the tech sector. In crypto and commodities, the effect is indirect; however, sustained AI capex could support demand for industrial metals and energy used in data centers. Currencies may see marginal support for the Chinese yuan if tech exports remain strong.

Key Takeaways for Investors

  • Earnings growth: Net profit growing 9x on a 2x revenue increase highlights significant operating leverage and pricing power.
  • AI demand is real: The results confirm that AI infrastructure spending is translating into concrete revenue for niche equipment makers.
  • Valuation caution: With the stock up nearly 200% in four months, much of the good news may be priced in; investors should watch for sustainability of orders and margin trends.
  • Liquidity boost: The share capitalization increase will improve liquidity, potentially attracting more institutional investors.
