- d-Matrix, an inference chip startup, will integrate Nvidia’s NVLink Fusion, allowing its chips to interoperate with Nvidia’s ecosystem. This is significant: rather than competing head-on with Nvidia, inference specialists are choosing to plug into its interconnect standard, accelerating their path to deployment.
Why This Matters for Crypto and DeFi
For the crypto industry, these developments carry direct implications. Decentralized compute networks that aggregate GPU supply—projects in the DePIN and AI-agent space—now face a higher bar. Enterprise buyers are signing nine-figure contracts with centralized providers; decentralized alternatives must demonstrate comparable reliability, latency, and compliance to capture meaningful share.
At the same time, the sheer scale of AI infrastructure financing—spanning defense loans, chip integration, and cloud contracts—creates a fertile environment for tokenized compute markets and on-chain financing of GPU capacity.
