Binance to List Tokenized GoPro and Reddit Stocks as RWA Race Accelerates

Binance is listing tokenized GoPro and Reddit stocks on its spot and convert platforms, expanding its bStocks lineup. The move highlights the accelerating convergence of traditional equities and blockchain-based trading, though regulatory questions and liquidity challenges remain.

Binance Expands Tokenized Stock Offerings with GoPro and Reddit bStocks

Binance will list tokenized securities tied to GoPro (GPROB) and Reddit (RDDTB) on its spot and convert platforms at 20:00 UTC today, pairing them against USDT. The exchange will simultaneously enable spot algorithmic trading bots for the new pairs and activate its smart position bot within 24 hours of listing.

The move marks another step in Binance’s push to bridge traditional equities and crypto markets through its bStocks product line, which packages publicly traded shares as blockchain-based tokens. GoPro, the action-camera maker, and Reddit, the social media platform that went public in 2024, join a growing roster of tokenized equities available to crypto-native traders.

Why Tokenized Stocks Matter Now

Real-world asset (RWA) tokenization has become one of the most closely watched narratives in digital assets, with major financial institutions from BlackRock to Franklin Templeton exploring on-chain representations of traditional instruments. Tokenized equities offer crypto users exposure to stock price movements without leaving the blockchain ecosystem, while providing global investors access to US-listed companies around the clock.

  • Accessibility: Tokenized stocks can trade outside traditional market hours, appealing to international investors in jurisdictions with limited US brokerage access.
  • Composability: Once on-chain, these tokens can theoretically be integrated into DeFi protocols for lending, collateralization, or structured products.
  • Regulatory ambiguity: Tokenized equities sit in a gray zone — they may represent beneficial ownership, synthetic exposure, or something in between, depending on the issuer’s structure.

The Competitive Landscape

Binance’s bStocks compete with similar offerings from platforms like Backed Finance (xStocks), which has partnered with Kraken and other exchanges, as well as Robinhood’s tokenized stock initiative in Europe. The race is on to capture demand from traders who want equity exposure settled on-chain with crypto-native speed and settlement finality.

GoPro and Reddit are notable choices — both are consumer-facing brands with volatile stock profiles. GoPro has struggled with revenue growth in recent years, while Reddit’s post-IPO performance has been choppy. Their inclusion suggests Binance is targeting retail traders interested in high-beta, recognizable names rather than blue-chip equities.

What to Watch

The critical questions are liquidity and premium/discount dynamics. Tokenized stocks often trade at a spread to their underlying reference price, especially during off-hours. If Binance can maintain tight tracking and deep order books, bStocks could become a meaningful gateway for crypto users seeking equity exposure. If spreads widen or regulatory pressure mounts, the product could face headwinds.

For now, the listing signals that the convergence of TradFi and DeFi is no longer a theoretical future — it is happening on major exchanges, one tokenized ticker at a time.
