A keyring, not a safe
Your coins never sit "inside" the wallet app. They are entries on the chain, and the wallet simply holds the private key that can sign changes to those entries. Reinstalling the app loses nothing; losing the key loses everything. That is why backing up the key matters more than which app you use.
