US military says it sank drug cartel supply vessel

On September 2, the US Southern Command released video showing it intercepted and sank a vessel in international waters of the Eastern Pacific, describing it as a floating gas station supplying fuel for illegal maritime drug trafficking. Since early September 2025, US forces have conducted multiple strikes on alleged drug boats in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific, but have not provided evidence proving the targets were involved in narcotics.
