TREE NEWS update: On Sept 7, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released its 15th Five-Year Plan for the information and communications industry, proposing a full-lifecycle real-name registration and security management system. The plan includes building a data-driven, precise risk-control and closed-loop technical prevention system, promoting tiered handling of fraud-related apps, and establishing an industry anti-fraud laboratory. It also aims to strengthen AI-driven anti-fraud technical systems and explore AI anti-fraud assistants, with coordinated governance across telecom, finance, and cyberspace departments.
