Nvidia, Palantir and Booz Allen to Restrict Use of OpenAI Models

The significance lies less in the restrictions themselves than in the mix of companies imposing them: a chipmaker, a data analytics firm and a defense contractor, each with distinct exposure to model dependency and, in the defense case, to data-handling and security constraints. The absence of stated scope or timing makes it hard to judge whether this is a narrow procurement decision or the start of a broader diversification away from a single model provider. Whether other firms in similar positions follow is the open question.
